"After God's Own Heart" - Speaker Biographies

Christopher Reardon

Chris ReardonChris is the director of the "After God's Own Heart" series. During his first two years attending the United States Naval Academy he struggled to understand if Christians could serve in the military or law enforcement because it can and often involves the use of violence to include the taking of human life in order to protect members of society from violent individuals and groups. This didn’t match up to what he believed at the time about Biblical principles.

In May of 2005 he sought out a Marine Officer who was a member of the Officers Christian Fellowship group at the academy and brought up this concern. From that discussion, he ended up understanding fully the Christian message of salvation and committed himself to a personal relationship with Christ. Later after studying the Bible extensively that summer, he decided that he could serve in the military and still maintain a good conscience towards God.

In May of 2007 he graduated the academy with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. He went on to serve in multiple Marine Corps units that included a deployment to Iraq and two Marine Expeditionary Unit deployments. Chris is a Captain in the United States Marine Corps and is earning his Masters of Science Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Dayton, Ohio.

Along with being part of the leadership of Force Ministries, he has also served in various local churches and worked with other military ministries and command chaplain programs by mentoring and leading Bible studies. He has also participated as a vocalist in chapel praise teams while deployed.
